Engie and EDP Renewables’ joint venture Ocean Winds and EDF Renouvelables in partnership with Maple Power each won 250MW floating wind sites in the Mediterranean France’s AO6 tender.

Ocean Winds’ bid in partnership with Banque des Territoires was awarded the d’Occitanie site at €92.70 per MWh. Ocean Winds is a 50:50 venture between Engie and EDP. The EDF/Maple partnership were awarded the Golfe de Fos site at €85.90/MWh.

The projects are backed by a monthly variable premium under a 20-year, two-way contract for difference. Pricing is close to BayWa re and Elicio’s CfD of €86.45/MWh won in France’s up to 270MW AO5 floating wind tender in May. Ocean Winds' win adds the Eoliennes Flottantes d’Occitanie (EFLO) project to its 30MW floating offshore wind pilot plant in Golfe du Lion, along with its two 500MW fixed-bottom projects Iles d'Yeu et Noirmoutier and Dieppe Le Treport.
