Outgoing Washington governor Jay Inslee has implemented a series of renewables-boosting initiatives to keep up with growing power demand. His work has resulted in a massive amount of solar and storage proposals. A whole range of new schemes has been proposed as a result.
A solar and storage project proposed by Innergex has been sent to Inslee's desk for approval by the state's Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC). The Wautoma solar project will include 470MW of solar and up to 100MW of four-hour duration storage in Benton County. It will connect to a Bonneville Power Administration substation and construction is expected to take 14–16 months from final approval.
